Why Should I Vote?

Today is arguably one of the most important elections for our generation as it will determine the future of our country. To not vote is to not let your voice be heard and is to be complacent in this administration's policies.

As I looked for reasons via Google today to adapt into my own words, I stumbled upon some horrifying articles from white supremacist blogs filled with the 6,000+ lies that our President has fed them for the past two years. Citing that we have zero unemployment and how the pay gap has finally been closed, or that we have grown manufacturing jobs and that industry is saved. All of which are false statements not grounded in any factual evidence. However, we should snot be surprised by the misinformation out there, spread by our own President. But furthermore, it is perpetuated by our brother educational system that Betsy Devos is further deteriorating.
And this terrifies me. To see that we have Americans who have not learned about slavery or the Holocaust is part of the reason why being a white supremacist is viewed as no different than being a Republican by some of its members of this growing hate group. To not know our history is to repeat it's past. And we know from history that civil discourse and having your voice heard leads to change. And this terrifies me. Your vote today is your way of having your voice heard on matters of foreign policy, family separation (which is something our President is chosen to do. It is not something he has to do or that any other President of ours has done as a means to deal with immigration), how we offer aid to the caravan, our taxes, and most importantly our civil liberties. "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Leads to our liberties of not being discriminated against based on our gender, race, sexuality, or gender identity. We need to unite against this hatred, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and the pain caused by this administration.

Today is our day to make this administration hear you. To make Congress listen and to enact change. So go out there and vote.
